Garden Show Ireland 2010 was held from 21 - 23 May and has been hailed as another fabulous success with thousands of visitors travelling from far and wide to attend the Garden Festival in the beautiful surroundings of the walled garden at Hillsborough Castle.
Highlights at the Garden Festival 2010 included:
Beautiful Cameo and Show Gardens
Visitors gained ideas and inspiration from expert professional designers and landscapers.

Growers Pavillion
A myriad of beautiful plants and flowers were on display at Garden Show Ireland 2010, produced by specialist growers and nurserymen from across the UK. 2010 also had an extra special treat, with the launch of a brand new Plant - Carex Everillo at the Show.

Garden Roadshow
Our team of well-known experts were on hand every day to help solve visitors gardening problems. Throughout the Show the Gardening Gurus also gave a series of practical talks and demonstrations on a range of seasonal gardening subjects.

Grow your own food
Recently there has been a phenomenal surge of interest for home-grown produce and healthy eating so Garden Show Ireland visitors were given practical tips and suggestions for growing their own food at home.

Garden Gourmet Pavilion
Garden Show Ireland's celebrity chef, Derek Patterson tempted visitors with delicious Garden Show Ireland recipes in the Garden Gourmet Pavilion. In his celebrity kitchen sessions, he was joined by celebrity gardeners and horticulturalists for an entertaining view on cooking what you have grown in your garden!

Allianz Schools' Garden Challenge
'Wildlife in the Garden' was the theme for this year's challenge. Schools from all over Northern Ireland were invited to design and build their very own gardens to be displayed at the show. The standard was exceptionally high this year.

Floristry Demonstrations
New for 2010 were demonstrations on creating stunning flower arrangements by international florist Richard Haslam. He was able to advise not just on how to make an arrangement look wonderful, but also which plants and flowers to grow to create it!

Craft Pavilion
There was a specifically dedicated marquee for country crafts and designs from around Ireland. Many exhibitors demonstrated their skills to visitors who were able to take some lovely goodies home.

Allianz Scarecrow Street
17 integrated primary schools from as far afield as Derry, Portaferry and Ballymena created their very own scarecrows which will populated the Scarecrow Street and welcomed visitors to the Show.

Little Green Fingers
There were plenty of activities throughout the Show to keep the kids entertained! Exciting activities included the RSPB Nature Trail around the Show, seed planting, making paper pots to grow your own seeds in, watching bees make honey as well as much, much more. There was also an interactive bird box display.
Garden Equipment
A selection of some of the best horticultural retailers from around Northern Ireland exhibited at the show and gave visitors the opportunity to buy all the machinery, tools and equipment they could want for the garden!

Jazz, Wine and Cream Teas
Visitors to the Show had a chance to simply relax and enjoy the serene and peaceful atmosphere of the walled garden.

Hillsborough Castle Gardens
The Show is held in the 'Secret Garden' which backs directly on to the beautiful Hillsborough Gardens. Once visitors had had a chance to enjoy the many elements of the Show, they were able to take a wander in the fantastic garden surroundings.
